Privacy Policy — Nurobodi

Last Updated: March 2026

Nurobodi is an Australian-based affective AI research and design practice and human wellbeing service. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and with awareness of applicable international privacy frameworks including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) where relevant.

1. Who We Are

Nurobodi operates as a dual-purpose practice: an affective AI research and design consultancy, and a human wellbeing service offering vocal resonance therapy and related practices. This policy applies to both aspects of our practice and to all users of www.nurobodi.com.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following personal information:

  • Name and contact details (email address, phone number)

  • Payment information (processed securely via Stripe — we do not store card details)

  • Account information when you create a member account

  • Session or consultation notes where relevant to service delivery (wellbeing services only)

  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and usage patterns via cookies and analytics tools

  • Communications you send us directly via email or contact forms

For research and consulting engagements, we may also collect professional information such as organisational role, research focus, and project requirements.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Deliver the services or consultations you have requested

  • Process payments and manage your account

  • Communicate with you regarding your enquiry, booking, or project

  • Improve our website, services, and research outputs

  • Meet legal and regulatory obligations

We will not use your information for purposes unrelated to those above without your explicit consent.

4. Sensitive Information

Where our wellbeing services involve collection of health-related or sensitive information (such as information about your physical or mental health shared during vocal resonance or therapeutic sessions), we collect this only with your consent and handle it with additional care in accordance with APP 3 and APP 6. This information is used solely for service delivery purposes and is not shared with third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With trusted third-party service providers (such as Stripe for payment processing, Squarespace for website hosting) solely to deliver services you have requested

  • With research partners or collaborators (such as CSIRO or RMIT University) where you have engaged with us in a research capacity, and only to the extent necessary

  • Where required or permitted by Australian law

All third-party providers we engage are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our third-party service providers (including Squarespace and Stripe) are based outside Australia and may process your data in countries including the United States. Where your data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives comparable protections to those required under Australian law.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, your rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, including the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@nurobodi.com.

7. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our site and to improve user experience. You may disable cookies through your browser settings; however, some site functionality may be affected. We do not use cookies to serve advertising or to track you across third-party websites.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. We use industry-standard secure platforms (including Stripe and Squarespace) for data storage and processing. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Wellbeing session notes are retained for a minimum of seven years in accordance with standard professional practice, unless you request earlier deletion and no legal obligation requires retention.

10. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information

  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention obligations)

  • Complain if you believe your privacy rights have been breached

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@nurobodi.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission. 12. Limitation of Liability

Nurobodi's wellbeing services (including vocal resonance sessions and qi gong) are offered as complementary practices and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. They are not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care. By engaging with these services, you acknowledge that results may vary and that Nurobodi is not liable for any outcomes arising from participation.
